A long dry season
Rain falls in a few monsoon months. For the rest of the year nothing rinses the glass, so dust builds up week after week.
Foundries, engine makers and auto-component plants across Shapar–Veraval, Metoda and Aji have some of Saurashtra’s biggest roofs. Keep their solar arrays clean through the dry months without using water.

Rajkot is one of India’s great engineering towns. The district has around 500 foundries, mostly making grey-iron castings, and more than a thousand auto-component units, alongside makers of diesel engines, bearings, pumps, gears and machine tools.
Those long factory sheds are ideal for rooftop solar, and Gujarat leads India in it, with about 7,400 MW on more than 13 lakh rooftops by May 2026. Rajkot is among the top five districts in the country under the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
The catch is water. Rajkot’s Aji and Nyari rivers run only from July to September, and the 2026 monsoon fell 28% short of normal. Washing panels with water competes with production and with the city’s own supply.
Factories, warehouses and plants with rooftop solar in these estates and corridors.

Casting, fettling, grinding and machining all release fine particles that settle on the roofs around them.
With seasonal rivers and below-normal monsoons, using thousands of litres to wash panels is hard to justify.
Large factory sheds and warehouses with long, continuous panel rows suit Solar Glide. The robot travels along the row with a dry rotating brush, charges itself from its own solar panel and runs on a schedule, so nobody has to walk the roof.
Roofs with several smaller arrays, skylights, vents or mixed orientations suit Aqualess Industrial: a 600 mm motorised brush on a 3.3 m rod that one person guides from a safe position.
Both clean dry. In a city whose rivers run only in the monsoon, every litre saved stays on the shop floor.
Our team travels from Vadodara (~280 km) to survey your roof, demonstrate the cleaner on your own panels and set it up. Support continues after handover.
Yes. We supply Solar Glide cleaning robots and Aqualess waterless cleaners to factories across Rajkot, including Shapar–Veraval, Metoda and Aji, and we visit for a roof survey, demo, setup and support.
We are based in Makarpura GIDC, Vadodara, about 280 km away by road. We travel across Gujarat for roof surveys, demos, setup and support. Call or message us to book a visit.
Both cleaners use dry brushes made to lift dust and loose dirt from the glass. Sticky deposits such as bird droppings can need an extra pass. We test on your own panels during the demo, so you see the result before you buy.
Every wash you replace saves what a wet clean uses, typically 3–5 litres per panel, according to CEEW. Enter your panel count in our savings calculator to see the yearly figure.
